Rajyamata-Gaumata title for desi cows, gaushalas to get subsidy: Maharashtra

The Maharashtra government has recognized indigenous cows as ‘Rajyamata-Gaumata’ due to their historical, nutritional, medicinal, and agricultural significance. In response to declining numbers, the cabinet will provide Rs 50 daily subsidies to cow shelters for better care of these breeds, aiming to support and preserve them.
