It's official: Priyanka joins politics, named Cong gen secy for UP east

Priyanka's involvement in politics has so far been largely limited to campaigning in the party's 'pocket boroughs' of Amethi and Raebareli in earlier elections. This is the first time she will play a more active role in the party's organisational hierarchy.
